Now that's a mole mound!
This big ol' pile of dirt is a classic sign that a mole has been busy tunneling just beneath the surface. For size reference, that's a full-size iPhone sitting at the base. So yeah, this wasn't just a quick pass through. This mole meant business.
Moles create networks of tunnels while hunting for insects, mainly earthworms. Their mounds, also called "molehills", are the result of all that underground digging. A single mole can dig up to 18 feet of tunnel in an hour. So if you're seeing multiple mounds like this one, you're probably looking at a pretty active little invader.
At Gopher Girl Inc. we know exactly how to read these signs and respond with the right approach. Before your yard turns into a full on mole city.
